BWR Intergenerational Power Table 2- Panelists will share the role, power & influence of Black women's leadership in philanthropy, civic engagement and political power building that centers a racial & gender justice agenda to bring about economic and social change in Black America. Panelists shared key strategies they are deploying to leverage the power and impact of the Black women and youth (Gen Z & Millenial) vote in 2020 Presidential Election Cycle and ensure the Black population is counted fairly in the 2020 Decennial Census.

11th Annual BWR "Power of Black Women" Public Policy Forum Series-Powertable One - Co-Hosted by CBCF & ESSENCE @CBCFALC19

The 2019 BWR Policy Forum kicks off with a presentation of the 5th Annual BWR/ESSENCE Power of the Sister Vote (POSV) Poll results on what Black women identify as the most important issues impacting Black America; which 2020 presidential candidates they would vote for if the election were held today; and share what they believe is most threatening to U.S. democracy. An expert panel of Black women leaders will serve as respondents to the POSV Poll and share their insight and expertise on the importance of centering a justice agenda for Black women, families and communities to live their best lives including racial, gender, economic, criminal, health, environmental & reproductive justice, civil rights, educational equity and more.

National Coalition on Black Civic Participation Hosts Unity 2020 Decennial Census Black Leadership National Organizing Summit

The NCBCP Unity Diaspora Coalition and its partners hosted the Unity 2020 Decennial Census Black Leadership National Organizing Summit unter the theme, "Be Counted To Build Power for the Next Generation." Census '20 Summit sponsors include the National Urban League/Census Black Roundtable, Institute of Caribbean Studies, National African Clergy Network, 100 Black Men of America & Black Women's Roundtable. The Census ’20 Summit focused on Black Leaders Joining Forces to Ensure African Americans & Black Immigrants Are Counted Fairly and Accurately in the Decennial Census & Vote in the 2020 Presidential Election”

NCBCP in partnership with the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, launched the BYV! #STOPTHE HATE Organizing Campaign in Atlanta, Georgia. BYV state partners leading the campaign include: Living Green Club/Building Green Initiative HBCU Green Fund @ Clark Atlanta University, FL BYV, Florida Coalition on Black Civic Participation, Alabama BYV, Alabama Coalition on Black Civic Participation; Philadelphia BYV, Rising Sons; and Prince Georges BYV, Community of Hope AME Church in Temple Hills, MD. The BYV! #StoptheHate Campaign is designed to empower campuses, universities and communities with the tools of civic engagement as a means to reduce the growing racial tensions and rise of hate crimes now impacting and threatening communities of color

Power of the Sister Vote: Time for a Power Shift!.... The NCBCP Black Women's Roundtable (BWR), in partnership with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and ESSENCE Magazine, hosted its 9th Annual BWR "Power of the Sister Vote" Policy Forum Series. The BWR Forum included three interactive intergenerational roundtable discussions with Black women leading the resistance in the streets, changing political & economic power from Capitol Hill, State Capitols to City Halls, Music Industry, to the Board Room to the C-Suites.

The BYV! 2016 HBCU Campus & Community "Vote Your Power" Challenge involves the use of social media, peer-to-peer communication, and special events to encourage millennials to vote and to get their peers, families, and friends involved in the voting process, as well. The goal of the challenge is to maximize their power by registering and motivating their peers at HBCU’s and other colleges or universities to vote and step up and protect the vote on campus and in surrounding communities.

National Voter Participation Day in Ohio , September 27, 2016

The partners of the Ohio Unity Coalition part of the National Coalition's Unity'16 Campaign led by Petee Talley had an awesome day Tuesday, September 27, 2016 registering voters in Toledo, Cleveland and Dayton. Unity partners took part in activities in Toledo during the voter registration drive-thru and family day. In Cleveland OUC partners NAACP, APRI,embers of Alpha Phi Alpha and the New Abolitionists canvassed the CMHA Woodland Community Center registering voters and also during the advance screening of the "The Birth of a Nation. " In Dayton OUC partners NAACP and DELTAs registered voters at the NEON Dayton theater during the screening of "Birth of A Nation."
